Dual Subtitles for YouTube™ does not collect, store on a server, sell or share any personal data.
- No data goes to us. We run no server. There is no analytics, no advertising and no remote code.
- The only network requests: captions are fetched from YouTube's own caption service (www.youtube.com/api/timedtext) — the same request the YouTube player makes — once for the original and once for YouTube's translation into the language you chose. Nothing else is sent anywhere.
- What is stored locally: your settings (on/off, translation language, text size, position and similar), and the words you choose to save, each with its sentence, translation, the video's id and title, and the time in the video. They stay in your browser's extension storage (settings are also copied to youtube.com's local storage on your device) and are removed when you uninstall the extension. You can delete saved words at any time on the "My words" page.
- Uninstall survey: when you remove the extension, your browser opens a short, optional survey (tally.so) asking why. Its address carries the extension name and, except on Firefox, the extension version, your browser language and how many days it was installed — nothing that identifies you. Answering is up to you.
- Dictionary links: when you click "Dictionary" on a word, a new tab opens Naver Dictionary or Google Translate with that word. This happens only when you click.
- What it reads: on www.youtube.com only, the player's caption list and the captions of the video you are watching, to show them on screen. This happens on your device.
- Permissions:
storage to keep your settings and saved words; scripts run on https://www.youtube.com/* only.

- 제거 설문: 확장을 지우면 브라우저가 이유를 묻는 짧은 선택 설문(tally.so)을 엽니다. 주소에는 확장 이름과, Firefox를 뺀 브라우저에서는 확장 버전·브라우저 언어·설치 뒤 지난 일수만 담기며 개인을 알아볼 수 있는 정보는 없습니다. 답할지는 자유입니다.
- 사전 링크: 단어 카드에서 «사전»을 누를 때만 새 탭으로 네이버 사전이나 Google 번역에 그 단어를 엽니다.
- 읽는 정보: www.youtube.com에서만, 보고 있는 영상의 자막 목록과 자막을 화면에 보여 주려고 읽습니다. 기기 안에서만 처리합니다.
